Guest guest
Hi all, I am greatful for all who have responded to me about supervisors they recommend. I was thinking it would be helpful for me if I put out what I am more specifically looking for in a supervisor and maybe the ones already emailed to me will also have this background as well. I am interested in a person that has had trainning and worked with people of color and other diverse populations such as GLBTQ. My trainning and interest besides art therapy has lied in working with people of color and working with a multicultural approach as well as a feminist approach. In my expereince so much work still needs to be done in terms of educating therapists and social workers and other clinicans in the helping profession in how to become an allie for people of color in the struggle of oppression and racism. I am a woman of color myself and am interested in working with a supervisor who has experience and trainning in this area. In addition how to work within an agency that may not be trained in this area and skillfully educate them if needed. My other interests are a supervisor who: Art Therapy, social action, transpersonal,Feminist, client centered, gestault, and Jungian approaches. I am excited to embark on this new journey towards putting my skills into practice in a more concrete way. I am interested in a supervisor that is open, challenging, and willing to help me learn how I can be a better therapist and better art therapist. If any of you know of anyone you would recommend please let me know. Thanks Olivia PS willing to go to Manhattan for supervision as well not just Brooklyn.
