Guest guest
I need to vent! Our insurance (UHC) has had the letters of medical necessity and the prescription from our ped for over 2 weeks, and still no answer. I want to do the casting asap, and am frustrated with this waiting game. I called this morning and a supervisor is supposedly going to get back to me today regarding the holdup. If they can give us an answer today or tomorrow, we plan to do the casting on Wednesday, if not... Kerri from NY impatient mom to (1/5/00) and (12/2/02) - hopefully soon to be DOC-banded
Guest guest
Kerri, Keep after 'em. Those insurance companies do enjoy the run around game! If you don't hear back soon then keep calling them back. The squeaky wheel gets the oil so squeak away!! Guest guest
I feel your pain, . It took UHC over three weeks to give us a denial. And that was over the phone to CT. I had to call a couple times after that to even get the denial letter - finally got it about two wks after the phone call. And then it was only for one of our boys. When I called to find out where the other letter was, they claimed they never received pre-cert papers on him. HA! Like I hadn't been calling and talking to them on BOTH boys the entire time! (We also have fax verification where they received both!) I could NEVER get them to return ANY of my calls - in my opinion, their " Care Coordination " dept. is a joke - it's more like the " Run-Around " department! Good luck - keep notes of everyone you talk to, date, time and if you left messages to call you. We got denied on grounds of " Cosmetic " . We're fighting it!!! mom to Nolan & , 10 months this coming Sunday! (DOC banded 3/26/03), & (3 yrs) --- In Plagiocephaly , " shannon152000 " <wolfekm@h...> wrote: > I need to vent! Guest guest
, You really have had the run around! Sheesh!! I'm to the point with my insurance co that I won't talk to the regular customer service reps - I go straight to the supervisor. When I was trying to get 's stuff straight I never could get a supervisor to call me back. One day I called and they told me the supervisor wasn't in yet. I told them I would hold. The CS kind of paused and said it would be at least a half an hour. I said fine, I'll hold. LOL! Amazingly that supervisor was able to take my call in about 5 minutes. I was just SO sick and tired of the run around. That insurance co is now out of business. At the time I'm sure I was on their 10 most hated list. LOL! Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma > > I need to vent! Guest guest
Marcy-I love it!! :} I can just imagine that Cust serv rep's face when you said would hold a 1/2 hour. I will have to remember that when I get the run around on the phone. > > > I need to vent! Guest guest
If you are planning on proceeding with the band regardless of insurance coverage, can you check with the insurance company to see if you can proceed to casting while the pre-cert is pending? -Debbie ('s mom) -----Original Message-----From: shannon152000 [mailto:wolfekm@...]Sent: Monday, April 28, 2003 11:13 AMPlagiocephaly Subject: Impatient with insurance for castingI need to vent! Guest guest
We are planning to proceed regardless, and are checking re our options - we just don't want to undermine any chance at covg. They told CT this afternoon that we should have an answer tomorrow. The nurse that reviewed 's case referred it to the medical director, so we have to wait for that person to finish their review...
