Weaning and EN

I'm new to the group and 10 weeks into EN. I was put on 6 different

antibiotics over a course of 3 weeks for what the doctors thought was

cellulitis. I was finally diagnosed with EN after a skin biopsy.

I've been trying to think about a possible trigger for EN. I seem to

have developed the initial lumps around the time that I weaned my 2nd

child from breastfeeding. Prior to that, I had started getting my

periods again about 2 months before weaning. I have never had PMS

before, but I've been particularly affected each month by the onset

of my periods since they started again four months ago. I will get

flu-like symptoms, fall sick with a cold, and have acne problems.

So, my thought is maybe the EN was triggered by hormonal changes

following the onset of my period after my second pregnancy, and

possibly as a result of weaning. Has anyone else experienced

anything like this? I was also on a progestin-only birth control

pill, which I had begun taking about 6 months before the onset of

EN. My doctors suspect the pill may be the trigger, but it is a pill

that I've been off and on again over the past 4 years with no other

problems. I am off the pill, and hoping this issue will resolve, but

if it's a hormonal issue, it may become chronic. Please let me know

if you've had any experience similar to mine.

Thanks,

April
