Guest guest Posted May 3, 2006 Report Share Posted May 3, 2006 The Association of Hispanic Arts (AHA) presents a Latinas in Literature Series EVENT: LIVING LITERATURE A workshop production of JOSÉ CAN SPEAK Featuring Nieves and “José Can Speak” actors and writers Thursday, May 11, 2006, 7:00 pm @ The de Burgos Latino Cultural Center 1680 Lexington Avenue @ East 106th Street El Barrio, NY 10029 (6 train to 103rd Street)) Audience members will have the opportunity to dialogue with José Can Speak writers, actors and Director, Nieves-, following a live performance. The panel will explore the relationship between performance and the written word. Highlighting the theater as a space for creative exploration and interpretation of the word, this panel is dedicated to celebrating “living literature” in Latina creative expression. A groundbreaking event, JOSÉ CAN SPEAK honors and gives voice to Latino men as performed by their female counterparts.
