DMPS is not approved by the FDA, but DMSA is. Some have experienced serious side effects from DMPS. Ray Saarela on the www.dmpsbackfire.com site has written me a lot about it. (If com doesn't work, try org instead.) DMPS is done with an IV so you have to go to the doctor's office to be hooked up to an IV. Maybe can tell us what it cost per treatment. You might have to travel miles to the doctor's office. Since DMSA is an oral prescription you can have it compounded at a compounding pharmacists in your community to your exact specifictions. You should start on a low dose and gradually increase. Ask your druggist for a referral to a compounding pharmacist. You can order DMSA online but my doctor said it had too much junk in it. There are supplements you can take also to chelate mercury and some people prefer them. There is no one way to do it, and chelation protocols are done differently by different people and different doctors. However, there is a safe protocol for removal of mercury. And it is pretty definite. And the sicker you are, the stricter it should be. IAOMT is the International Academy of Medicine and Toxicolgy. They are a group of doctors and dentists who are researching safe ways of removing mercury. They also research the biocompatibility of dental materials. Persons removing mercury from teeth should not just put back any material. Certain dental materials could cause MS symtoms to get worse. You can submit a blood test to the Clifford Consulting and Research. They will run a test to determine which materials would be biocompatible with your body. I don't see how anyone could do this properly without reading and researching at least 6 months, unless you have a mercury expert to hold your hand and tell you exactly what to do. You need to do this slowly and do it with wisdom. There needs to be a lot of research done before " rushing out and having amalgam removed. " If not done properly the person could be worse off. DAMS has a packet of information available by calling 1- . If you check my website at www.mercurypoisoned.com you will find links. I have the protocol for the IAOMT safe removal of mercury linked on my site. Books by Dr. Hal Huggins are excellent. He has a book on his site at www.hugnet.com about MS that he has written after treating 1000 people with MS. He lost his liscense to practice dentistry in Colorado after refusing to put in amalgam and refusing to refer people for root canals, for speaking out against mercury and for saying that the removal of mercury can be one of the helps in reversing MS. I have not read his book about MS, but I have read IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD, and UNINFORMED CONSENT. He has returned to school to get a degree in immunology. I will soon have a link on my site to another lady who has researched the problems with root canals. Her medical conditions started when she had a root canal put in and stopped when she had it removed. However, there are procedures for the removal of root canals also. I will try to post links later. Also when teeth are pulled, or root canals or wisdom teeth extracted certain people have what are called caviatations in their jawbone. This can contribute to chronic illnesses. But at the present I don't feel knowledgeable enough to discuss it. I will try to post links on this subject. I will be posting information I have just received from the President of DAMS that I am using to help a lady in California I found on the internet and am convinced she is mercury poisoned. She had a dentist put in 23 fillings. She started getting sick and felt movement in her head like I did. She started getting acid reflux so badly that it caused her teeth to crumble in her mouth. Mercury messes up the gut and causes many gastrointestinal problems. I had food allergies. Other people have abdominal cramps, colitis, diverticulitis, chronic diarhea or constipation or alternation between the two. This lady is going to have to have 8 teeth cut out of her mouth and is suffering from many symptoms that seem to me to be mercury related. I am referring her to folks in CA that are DAMS coordinators to help her locate a biological dentist and also a MD who is knowledgeable in testing for mercury and other heavy metals toxicity, and knows how to remove it from her body. Since her condition sounds very serious I emailed several of the mercury information groups on Yahoo groups and the president of DAMS is telling me what she should do in testing. When I get all this information together I will post it on this group also. When traditional medicine is stuck in thier rut, and refuses to see any connection between toxins and chronic illnesses, you have to do your own research, be your own doctor and recover on your own. There are a few knowledgeable doctors and dentists out there who can help Marie Flowers
