Guest guest
I had a flare up of EN late last summer. We don't know why as usual. My guess is that I had skipped a month of birth control and when I went back on it was about the time the flare up occurred. I am on birth control for ovarian cysts. My mother died of ovarian cancer when she was 38. About the time of the EN flare up, I got a strange rash typed thing that looked like a bruise on my right breast. It stayed there for four months. They started blood work, did a chest x-ray and a breast ultrasound. Everything came back clean. Then a month later got one above my breast on my collar bone. I also got eczema under both arms and a large spot on my left calf that looked like ring worm. The dermatologist says not ring worm but capillaritis. He pulled me off the birth control I was on as well. I have been off the BC for over a month now and I am still getting more spots. I got six over the weekend. They are bright red, last for weeks and slowly turn brown and fade. The large one on my leg has been there for two or three months now and it still slightly visible. They took another biopsy a few days ago. In addition to all this my joints are sore. Some days are worse then others and it affects all my joints even my knuckles. I am tired all the time, I can't sleep through the night waking every hour or two and if by a fluke I do get through the night sleeping I never wake up refreshed. They are sending me to a rheumatologist the third week in April. Has any one else had these funny spots or joint issues? The capillaritis bugs me the most because once again I can't wear skirts to work. It's not EN but it feels just as shameful in the work place like I am a freak. I have never had trouble going out in public wearing shorts with an EN flare up but work...work has always been an obstacle. They say with the capillaritis that they don't know what is causing it and it could clear up on its own, get worse or maybe never go away. Just like my EN. No answers. I just I am looking for support and any insight anyone here might have.
Guest guest
Hi,Has your dr. considered metformin for polycystic ovaries ? http://www.ivf.com/pcostreat.html My friend's dtr has PCOS and could not get pregnant. She started metformin and BINGO she did! Her baby was born very prematurely and weighed only two lbs. Amazingly she survived and is a healthy and beautiful little girl now--still small for her age, but no problems so far. Maybe you can use metformin to address the ovarian problems without hormones?Love, idio. EN '
