Guest guest
Dear Colleagues, Register now for the Drama Therapy Consortium's November and January workshops in New York City! In November, we are offering a foundational session on drama therapy, appropriate for students in the creative arts therapies or other mental health disciplines, new drama therapists, and experienced professionals from other disciplines curious about drama therapy. In January, we are offering a dynamic session using drama therapy to explore surviving and thriving in crazy systems-- relevant for students or professionals in any helping discipline. Please see below for full workshop descriptions and registration information. The Drama Therapy Consortium is an independent collective of drama therapists whose backgrounds, while firmly rooted in the field of drama therapy, include diverse training and experience related to the healing professions, specific populations, and theoretical and practical applications. Reflecting this, workshops integrate drama therapy theory and techniques, multi-disciplinary approaches, and practical strategies. For more information, please visit our new website at www.dramatherapyconsortium.com. And, we'd love your help spreading the word about these upcoming workshops! If you can distribute flyers or post on a bulletin board at your worksite or other locations, please let us know (by emailing directly) and we'll mail or e-mail you flyers! Thank you. Surviving and Thriving in Difficult Systems Sunday, January 7, 2007 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Darby LCAT, RDT-BCT and Speck LCAT, RDT-BCT Many creative professionals work in institutional settings that stifle creative inspiration. Understanding theory about how and why systems operate can offer the "aesthetic distance" we need to see the craziness instead of letting it overwhelm us. In this workshop, we will introduce multi-disciplinary ideas and concepts, and play experientially with the many roles that can be found within systems. Participants will emerge with increased understanding of and empowerment in their vital roles within challenging systems. CEUs for drama therapists. Each workshop will be held in a convenient Manhattan location. The fee for each workshop is $85.00, due two weeks prior to the workshop. To reserve your space, please mail payment, indicating which workshop(s) you are registering for to: Long 80 East 11th Street, Suite 301C New York, NY 10003 For further information, please visit www.dramatherapyconsortium.com or call .
