I just want to notify you of my upcoming seminar Finding a Creative Arts Therapy Job on Wednesday May 31st 8-9:30PM. An announcement with further information follows this e-mail.

This seminar will have a special student rate for current students. Students must register & pay the fee in advance to receive this rate. All seminar materials are included with the fee.

This is given by a CAT Dept. Head who can provide an "insider" perspective on what makes distinguishes job seekers & what factors goes into selecting a candidate. This seminar will given much detailed information on finding positions & prepare for interviews.

Seating is restricted to a small group & registration will closed upon reaching the maximum.

About the seminar’s content:

This seminar is to provide unique information and strategies on obtaining a creative arts therapist position from an experienced creative arts therapist and hospital administrator. Topics covered include strategies to go about finding positions at facilities that don’t advertise, how to best write your resume, how to best present oneself during a job interview, how to negotiate the best possible terms with a potential employer. The seminar will help those who are looking for their first creative arts therapy job and for experienced creative arts therapists looking to change positions.

Participants are welcome to submit their resumes for review.

About the seminar’s presenter:

Hara, MA, MA, CGP, MT-BC, LCAT, is currently the director of a large creative arts therapy department in New York City. He has interviewed and hired most of his current staff. A creative arts therapist with over twenty-five years of experience, has develop contacts with various other healthcare facilities and has an ongoing interest in tracking treads within the healthcare field. He will offer his unique perspective on what often helps people successfully gain creative arts therapy jobs.

FEE: $25 Advance registration by 5/29/06;

($30 after 5/29/06- subject to available space).

Special Student Fee: $20 (advance registration only by 5/26/06)

Fee includes all seminar materials.

Seminar will be held at the Frisch Hara Music Therapy Studio located on East 84th & 3rd Avenue. The studio is conveniently accessible by public transportation.
