Guest guest
I've been catching up a bit reading the posted messages regarding licensure, and appreciate all of the dialogue. Specifically, the sharing of frustrations with the process. This is probably somewhat redundant but I feel compelled to vent. I applied for both CAT and MHC licenses in May, was thorough, methodical, etc... tracked pieces that were sent. Apparently, I was told I'm missing one piece that was sent twice (I checked and double checked this). It was indeed sent both in May, and again in September when I was originally told that they did not receive it. So after months of waiting....it was there all along. My last inquiry, two weeks ago, I was told that all that is being held up for both licenses is that my child abuse registry course was not one of the approved ones. Well, while I had the woman on the phone, we went through the list, and yes....I did in fact take an approved course. (I wouldn't have taken an unapproved one at this point!) I'm really trying to sit back with the cocoa. I recently lost my job of 8 years with a mental health program at a non-profit agency. I really could use that piece of paper right about now, as I begin to search for a new position. I'm happy for the extension granted to those who need to finish their applications. I'm also concerned that more time means more time my completed paperwork will get lost, forgot about, or misconstrued. I've envisioned a drive up to Albany where I gather all of my completed application sections and stage a sit-in until I get both licenses. It's interesting how my checks weren't lost and were immediately approved. hmmmm.... For now, I will sit back. I'll call again Monday.
