Guest guest
Hello to everyone. Tonight the NYCCAT Board met so to follow is my ‘keeping you up to date’ blurb! A call for presenters for NYCCAT’s annual CAT conference will be sent out soon to the e-group once we have secured a conference space. Right now we are planning the conference for April 22 & 23 (Sat & Sun) in NYC so save the date! We also are planning a Spring Swing & Silent Auction in May and will post when we firm up the details. As you know the LCAT process continues. For many who applied the main hold up seems to be the comparative education review. Alan and I plan to contact the powers that be to inquire about the approval process and if there is anything we can do to provide information that would help in confirming the required educational curriculum for approval. Alan also continues to keep in close contact with the Joint Council, the State and our Lobbyist Jim Carr. ANY updates we hear about will be posted on the e-group. As I had mentioned to you in my first Board meeting review email we continue to make positive changes to the NYCCAT Board. Recently we added Executive positions to reflect typical organizational Boards. The full list of Board members and titles are listed below. We are still seeking a Corresponding Secretary so if you have any interest please contact me directly for more information. And last but CERTAINLY not least is our recent appeal for your support via asking you to donate moolllaa to NYCCAT. After making our first payment to the Joint Council and paying our day to day bills we for sure need your support to keep NYCCAT going strong! As bold as I can be at times and despite the stack of motivational books on my shelf I still am challenged by asking people for money but after being on the NYCCAT Board for about 6 years, knowing first hand how costly it is to achieve OUR professional goals I feel compelled to ask for your support. As President of NYCCAT and your colleague I can assure you on behalf of the NYCCAT Board that all monies raised go directly to serving our CAT community. Ok now here is my RALLY CRY! BUST OPEN THOSE PIGGY BANKS!!!! and even consider a Chriss Berk move…I hit my mom and sister up for a donation too! My friends are next on the list! How can I top off the RALLY CRY you ask?? I hush up and let you know how to donate! -If you received the donation letter please consider making a donation of any amount that you can offer at this time. -If you did not receive a letter and would like to make a donation you can send it to NYCCAT, PO Box 1012, NY, NY 10009 again donating what you can offer at this time. If you already sent in your donation THANK YOU!!! Also, if you did not receive a donation letter and would like to be in our database for future NYCCAT mailings please send the following information directly to our Membership Chair, Yoko at yokotajimi@...
