Hello Everyone!

I am the chief consultant for the first creative arts therapy conference in Japan. The International Conference of C.A.T. in Tokyo will be held, October 7-9, 2006 National Olympics Memorial Youth Center (NYC) http://www.nyc.go.jp

This is a call for proposals. I am looking for creative art therapists; art, play, dance/movement, music, drama, and poetry therapies, to present lectures, workshops, or posters. At this first conference, the focus will be on learning the basic idea of each approach, its theoretical background, and technique. Our target audience will be creative art therapists in various clinical settings, psychologists, physicians, school counselors, occupational therapists, teachers, students, and artists. People who are interested in this field may also participate as audience.

The conference will consist of the following sections – Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Music Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, Drama Therapy, Poetry Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy. Each section is allotted its rooms for the workshops and lectures. During the afternoon of the second day, all sections meet together and have a symposium over the prospects and ongoing issues of Creative Arts Therapies in Japan and other countries.

To submit a proposal, contact me at stephanielbrooke@.... Please put Japan Conference 2006 in the subject line. I can provide you with the guidelines. Shortly, my website, http://www.stephanielbrooke.com will have information about the conference as well as the proposal guidelines – look under call for submissions. The deadline for proposals is 1/30/2006. I look forward to hearing from you!
