Guest guest
good for you.. great to be so well prepared by watching the DVD. Please do not 'sing along'. Instead, listen to your recording after the perfomance and sing your heart out. It will be great. !!! also, remember that most everyone there will be immersed in the performance, you will be connected to all by that, only a very few will be thinking about anything other than completely absorbing the music; mentally, physically and.... emotionally. Even the AS ! It is electric. You will love it. And buy another ticket soon, it just gets better and better. I am excited for you! Janet ZEE.. planning to see Madame Butterfly this spring. Hello all!!!Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone is SAFE tonight! It is going to get bone chilling cold here, and I will not be staying up.Today I purchased my first ever opera ticket. The Saint Louis Symphony is staging my favourite opera, Beethoven's "FIDELIO." The opera will be in concert format, without sets, scenery, costumes and dialoge. Lead soprano is Brewer doing Fidelio / Leonore!! WOW!!!!!!But I have it memorized watching a DVD four dozen times thus far. Fidelio will be sung in the original German, which fortunately I speak.I have not been down to Symphony Hall in two decades, and have trepidation about a theatre full of people. The music of Beethoven, and the great story may help me to not only attend, but enjoy, the opera!!!!!I know I will sing along with the performers, but I hope I can be quiet enough not to bother others???? Lately, I have been singing along in the Key of F, and that is not as easy as writing it!!!!Anyone overcome trips to operas, concerts?? How did you prepare???The opera is Sunday 30 March, and I am ,crazy about attending!!!!Thanks a lot!Terry KlasekSaint Louis, Missouri

Guest guest
I went to a ballet in grad school that was along the lines of " Apollo " . Lots of classical/opera music from what I understand. How did I overcome it? I didn't. I knew I had wanted to go to a ballet for quite some time, and didn't care what anyone else thought of a single guy going by himself to it. Almost got into it with a bunch of protestors, who were extremists trying to convince people to boycott the ballet because a few of the ballerinas were gays and lesbians. I thought better of it, went inside to see the ballet, and enjoyed the rest of my evening. > > Hello all!!! > > Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone is SAFE tonight!
