Do alot of you have bone/join pain? I'm reading that alot of you feel that it is from the bronchiectasis. Is there anything to prevent these complications from occuring? There again, what do you do for these aches/pains?

Club fingers are the result of a lack of well oxygenated blood to the periphery of the fingers...you can get clubbed toes too. Children with congenital heart defects are the commonest group of people where you will see this. It is caused by the tiny blood vessels expanding and widening the finger tips are commonly blue too, so this part of your finger is not caused by bone or join deformity as such. I am certain that emedecine has information on clubbing.

However it is interesting that many of you do have bone and joint problems. had problems with his hips dislocating and following surgery his bones did not heal properly. The surgeon suspects he will have further dificulties with joints in years to come.

> How many of you have club fingers? I do , also have knots on my

fingers and they are twisting them around. Also the luna's(half

moons) of my finger nails are turning blue.. They told me that

Bronchiectasis and cromes disease are the only disease that you get

club fingers from. So if your fingers get clubed it stands to

reason that this disease does affect your bones and maybe your

muscles. I know I have sure got crippled up since I have been told

I have this nasty disease. I now have degenertive joint disease

too . and am getting worse all the time . and De De. I too have

begain having trouble with my teeth. makes you wonder what is going

to go next. Nice to have all you good people to talk too. Ina

I have always had mildly clubbed fingers. My pulmonologist now and

the one I used to have would yell at me if I happened to have on

nail polish when I saw them, because they want(ed) to check the

color of my nails. (I don't have to never have it- just when I see

the doctor.) My clubbing isn't too bad, really, hardly noticeable,

but I think it looks weird. Of course, I depend on my hands for a

living, too, so I notice them more than the average person, anyway.
