Guest guest
I came to believe that ms is something that already exists in our bodies, before it " opens outwards " . I spoke / communicate with many other ms-ers and smth seemed very strange to me: most of them said they surely had had symptoms of the disease years before the first obvious " crisis " . I think there always is a predisposition to this disease, maybe genetic. (e.g. my mother has the Babinsky reflex and she hasn't ms) Almost all of them had very serious psychological problems (I don't know exactly how to call them) before the first relapses: tragic events or shocks that upset their minds or feelings: e.g. death of both parents within six months, were left by their life partner, had children with handicaps, " crucial " exams (in universities etc.), they lost their jobs, had car accidents, a lasting fatigue or emotion, unbearable stress... After some situations like that, I suspected that it couldn't be just a coincidence ! And I started to ask more and more persons about that. I can tell you that what I heard or read was absolutely amazing! Only 4 of them said they had no such a problem before their ms symptoms. All 4 has a primary progressive ms. Maybe another coincidence. I ceased to ask other people, but my conclusion was that maybe, just maybe... such problems could turn upside-down the immune system or whatever... and cause the ms " appearance " . Then, once disordered, I think it could illogically provoke damages to the whole body. And all the external factors (viruses, different toxins etc.) could be then triggering factors. Some people may have heart attacks, or hair loss, but also brain damage. Ms could also be caused by problems like those (shocks etc.). It is my belief... I don't know if I was coherent. I am also sure that there were others before me :-))) who thought about that, but I'd like to know your opinions too. Guest guest
Natalia, When I read your post about a crisis precipitating MS I had to write. In my early days in grade school I was the target of bullying that went on for 8 years. I wanted to die. Since my parents felt I was geting a " good " education changing schools wasn't an option. And since it was 30 years ago teachers were not willing to do anything, as they are now. I carry this mental damage even today and so being diagnosed 16 years ago with RRMS your article makes so much sense. I hope that an answer can soon be found for all of us with MS. As I write this my heart is pounding hard with reliving in my mind this horrible time in my life. > I came to believe that ms is something that already exists in our bodies, > before it " opens outwards " . I have little doubt that the crises (both emotional and physical) led to a disruption in my immune system and then MS. So you could add me to your list of people who've had a crisis before their first relapse. Hope you have good success with your treatment this week. Do give us a report when you return.
