Guest guest
Hi , This apparently is a very Aspie thing. One set of stats I read told that upwards of 78% of AS persons are cat lovers. Personally I’ve always been a cat lover. Currently I’m owned by a Lilac Burmese named Felecia (or Kittles) and a Siamese/Tabby cross called Missy. They sleep with me every night, and I describe a cat as ‘a furry hot water bottle, with an inbuilt vibrator!’ Cheers, Ron 71 yr old Australian Aspie. There is a book called "All Cats Have Aspergers," and you can get it from & Noble. I have it at work... it is a wonderful way to explain both myself and my son to people. It's pictures with brief comments, and summarizes things so well! __________________________________________________

Guest guest
My BF not only loves cats (as do I) and has 3, he actually thinks he is one. I guess I should say that he strongly identifies with them (but he's a leopard, not a housecat!) He refers to himself in the third person as " the cat " and he often will communicate with me by meowing -, 36, NT I'd say it was an AS thing, we have got 2 cats.Cheers,
Guest guest
Diane, While I am not a "cat", do communicate with them. As a teenager, I had a cat who made interesting trills- and I was able to do them back, on pitch, so that they sounded like hers. As a result, it was not hard to "call" her to come to me and let me pet her- but of course, she would trill at me, too, and I would walk across the room and stroke her fur. There were others two, like "feed me", that were quite different. Later, I discovered that i can call lots of cats. Some respond back by trilling or meowing at me, and some do not- it depends on the cat. I am not completely sure what is involved, here. I am not too sure if perfect pitch is necessary either- if I were not exactly on pitch, would they still react? It's fun, anyway. Guest guest
I love cats too! I've got 3 cats myself and I know of at least 4 other people who love cats/have one and also have Asperger Syndrome. Anyway, I've created my own documentary on Asperger Syndrome which can be viewed at the following link: Best, Tara Kimberley Torme --- aspires@... wrote: > > > I *love* cats - is that an aspie thing????
