Oh , I am so very happy that it was nothing else

than a pimple.

I supposed that you were really scared of going to the

doctor. I know your feeling though, I do not like

going to the doctor, specially if I " think " I might

hear bad news.

I have one co-worker who has a huge lump on the left

side of his neck, it is hard and he does not goes to

the doctor at all. I heard others saying to him for

three years now to go to the doctor.

I have a lump also on the left side of my neck, but it

is soft tissue that formed after I had to use steroids

for my back problem. I can have it taken off, but it

is not that noticeable. I do not mind it, and it does

not bothers me for now.

I had it checked though and I remember not wanting to

go to the doctor and I would make all kind of excuses

for not going. Until one day I slept wrong and my

neck was in pain, I then went ahead and had to go see

the doctor.

I am glad your lump was just a pimple, I have never

seen an ingrown pimple before. I think you are a good

looking lady anyhow, so now you should only look

nicer. What have the kids said?

Oh, ,

HUGS to you! So glad it was nothing serious! I also have a friend who

had a similar blocked pore that turned to a lump - on her breast. She

was so frightened - didn't want to tell anyone for a long time.

Finally went to her doctor, cried all day the day before she went.

They lanced the lump and it drained. She was one happy woman!

Thanks for sharing this story. I think we Aspies as a whole tend to

delay the doctor more frequently than NTs, afraid of what to say,

afraid of what we'll find out and how it might change things, hope it

will just go away on its own

I was very afraid last year when the skin on my face developed a rash

- I feared it was skin cancer. I do like working in my garden. It's

been my " hobby " all of my adult life. I try to wear hats, sunscreen

but don't always think about it since I tan easily - or did, until

the past couple of years. Finally I went to the doc and was referred

to a dermatologist and it took many months to get in to see one. My

doc said he thought it was rosacea but wanted to be sure. And it was!

I was so relieved. I do have to be careful to avoid direct sunlight

but its NOT CANCER.

I would have spared myself a lot of anxiety by going to the doctor

sooner, but, that's life! Thanks for sharing your story - and

reminding us that it's better to go to the doctor SOONER than later.

Sometimes they might even have GOOD news!

Hi , I am golad that it was not serious. I know that had to be a great relief! By the way, don't sell us short too fast! At least those of us who are FB will never think you are ugly- just (relief!) easier to pick out of a crowd. By the way, most FB people are NS, according to Ken Nakayama of Harvard U. Scared on one end, and really disappointed with our medical community for

even getting it right. That is sad. My kids saw so many

right. Part of me just said, why bother

, I can understand that sentiment totally. And your kids have done

really well, no thanks to paid " professionals. " All the credit

goes to YOU - and your kids. I can also appreciate the fact that when you

are always putting out fires, you don't always have time to take care of

YOU. Over the years, as you did battle with doctors, the school system,

and of course the ongoing challenges of trying to make an AS/NS marriage

work, you had little time for YOU.

One very good piece of advice a co-worker gave me years ago (which I

never did follow) and of course this advice was gleaned from hindsight as

she also learned this the hard way, YOU have to take care of YOU first.

Anyway, I am very happy for you that the cause of the bump on your face

was benign and an easy fix. Lesson learned for all of us!

Hi ,

So happy to know that your face is OK. I understand why you didn't

want to go to a doctor. I am the same. They have let us all down so

much and for us caregivers and mums in particular, we are used to

fixing problems ourselves. We are not very good at taking care of us.

Please take time for you.

I am hopeless at taking care of myself and need to do better but 20

years ago I did insist on having a suspicious mole removed and was

ridiculed by 2 doctors for doing so. It was a melanoma. I was only in

my early 30's.

Huge thanks for getting the new ASPIRES group site up and running,

. You have done a marvellous job. We really appreciate all your

hard work.

Mineral makeup from a company out of San Francisco, California/USA.

My kids have problem skin and it has been a good product for us.

There is a face clinic in town where I send Brittany twice a year for

a facial and massage and they do a GREAT job with her skin. I am

going to make an appointment for me. Mama can use a facial!!!! lol

I think you have to spoil yourself every now and than, just to feel GOOD.

US. Do something just for YOU and try not to feel guilty about it. I

know it is hard. It could be anything that makes YOU feel good about

YOURSELF. It is hard especially if you are use to sacrificing YOU for

the relationship or family to keep an even balance in your life and

the family among you.

win. You develop this part of your life just for YOU. YOUR safety

pictures, going to fairs, etc. Whatever makes YOU relax and feel in

tune with the Universe. It starts with YOU and US. This is something

we all can do without a prescription. lol It is a FREE service. {wink}
