Guest guest
Shouldn't be holding the legs. If she is upright and told to breathe and not to push, just breathe, the baby will descend much sooner. I NEVER tell a woman to push. It only makes the baby take longer to come out, not shorter. There comes a time (as long as she hasn't had a epidural) when she cannot help but push, nomatter what you tell her, her body pushes, not her. This is what must be waited for. This is the power in birth. Just because someone says she's 10cm and to push, doesn't mean she's in the pushing stage. the pushing stage is involuntary. Epidurals are another story.
