This new study will focus on the effects of HIV/AIDS on the brain and nervous system. This is a long awaited opportunity for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS to contribute to medical research at an organ donor level. The organs to be obtained will be the brain and spinal cord via an autopsy at time of death. Participants involved in the study have the benefit of receiving on going neurological testing and examination which allows for early diagnosis of health related problems and timely intervention. Those qualified for the study may… 1. Have a CD4 count of 50 or less 2. Have an additional serious illness such as cancer, heart, lung or liver disease. 3.
