Guest guest
Just to offer a bit of insight on this - The Bush administration was consistently criticised by scientists for the manner in which they subdued, manipulated and twisted science to suit their own ends. Many of the heavy hitters in the US scientific community publicly criticised the previous adminisitration for this. Irrespective of the stem cell debate, this statement was designed to clearly differentiate the new US government from the Bush administration. I welcome that statement. We need progress to be driven by data and not by ideology. > > Natasa, the quote you posted is about allowing experiments on human embryos. Sorry there is a MASSIVE moral dimension to this and he can't hide behind the language of scientific objectivity. > Very off topic, and I'm not going to get into a debate here, but Obama DOES have an agenda which includes compelling individual States to allow partial birth abortion(the horrors of which I won't describe), even when the State legislature has expressly forbidden it, presumably this is in the cause of women's rights as he sees it. > Margaret >
