Guest guest
.... Rose and , Congrats on passing the LC exam and joining our PP group online. While I'm not a new LC I am new at learning about PP options. So far what I've learned leans toward not being able to make a " living " at PP exclusively. Even LC's in large metro areas with lots of potential clients may not be able to earn enough to support themselves and a family. Seems most LC's are also earning income in other ways: pump rentals, selling other gadgets, running classes, teaching, writing articles, being a paid doula etc. My initial analysis based solely on # of clients over a months time and initial home visit fees is to expect about a $40K/yr. Out of that comes taxes, conferences, inventory expenses, gas costs, ink/printing supplies, and recert fees. Nothing to sneeze at but not enough to live off. Of course this is not based on 40hrs/week, so you are available for other income earning opportunities perhaps. So for those already in business Is my analysis way off or about in the ball park? Again welcome to our list! Ilene Fabisch, BS, IBCLC/RLC, LLLL Gentle Beginnings Lactation Assistance Brockton, MA agentlebeginining@...
