Words don't matter

What can I say or do I say to my son after 3-4 years of this. I want to be there

for him just as I have up till now. He is draining me mentally and I think

sometimes I'm better off keeping quiet because I might lose it and start

yelling. He is so extremely obsessed with head lice(catching them) no one else

in my family takes this as seriously as I do. The therapist told me at the last

visit to not answer his questions and to not check his head. I have done this

but last night he sat in the chair and spent at least 1/2 hour picking at his

hair and pulling out what he believed to be lice. I was sort of dosing off so I

would glance at him once in a while but didn't say anything.

Our next appointment is April 2nd. Any suggestions on where to go from here? I'm

so mentally exhausted

do think having the dandruff is preoccupying his mind. Our appointment is April

2nd and it will be interesting to see what the therapist thinks of it.
