Amy, I totally agree! It was so nice to see you again and to meet some new faces! Every time I meet someone new from this group or the tae- bo boards, I am always amazed at how many wonderful friends I have made through tae-bo! I feel like I am meeting old friends and we always have so much fun I am so proud of you for coming yesterday, especially since you have been going through some rough times lately! I know how nervous you were to give your testimonial....you did a GREAT job! I am so glad that you, Barb and Peggy all got to stand together up front and got to experience it " up close and personal " ! I'm really glad you decided to come and I'm glad that we were able to be there for you Your hubby was a real trooper (and don't worry....I'm taking my film in to be developed tomorrow and I'll make sure I get doubles so I can send you that copy of the one with you and Shellie)! Guest guest
Hello Ilene, Although I am VERY new to the PP too, I have some ideas for some of your questions; Insurance; the cheapest and easiest coverage that I found is through ILCA's USA section Under the forms on this chat list you can get many useful forms and info that you can modify and use as a starter. As far as the equipment; I spoke with an Medela rep and it was very useful. She advised me to start to get connected with others that sell/rent pumps to start with. This will benefit two ways A) as I am using my home as my practice address I do not have a shop front to be able to get customers passing by -so to speak- It needs $1500 + to get enough to starting your rental account with medela -which again I think it is little too much for me to put on side for now. Business cards; As I read you are good with computer, so it would be breeze for you to use an Avery template to create your own. I use little upscale cards with the best photo setting to print and they do look very professional. I used nearly all my friends for their input before I went and printed a whole bunch though. I hope some of these answers will be a point of view for you. I look forward to read the other answers you will get too. Kindly Ann Columbia, MD Mother's milk is the normal food for human babies. Guest guest
Thanks so much for the info, Ann. Â I'm not looking to be a pumprental depot so Medela won't enter into it. Â We have lots of insurancecoverage for pumps in MA and I have a great DMR supplier that I knowfrom working at the hospital and requesting pumps. Â At least I'm familiarwith how to get those.Hello Ilene,Although I am VERY new to the PP too, I have some ideas for some ofyour questions;Insurance; the cheapest and easiest coverage that I found is throughILCA's USA sectionUnder the forms on this chat list you can get many useful forms andinfo that you can modify and use as a starter. As far as the equipment; I spoke with an Medela rep and it was veryuseful. Guest guest
Hi Ilene, I'm just getting started too, but here are some of the things I've done so far: >who hosts websites inexpensively? I reserved the name through godaddy.com, : GoDaddy can also host, or I've decided to use a blog template as my website and keep it changing. I still have a domain name through GoDaddy, but it routes it to a free Wordpress blog. This way, when I update something, subscribers will get notice. My site is: www.safepassagebirth.com >where do we get insurance from? how much? : I found the CM & F company through ILCA. It is $109/year for the higher limits. >sources for forms? needed? The files section of this group has lots of examples. I just figured this out last week! >a list of basic needs for startup? I think I still need to get a scale (can rent if I need to). I did end up renting an office. I would like to have one hospital grade pump available. I'm not really interested in being a rental station, but I would like to not have to refer to our hospital-based clinic for HG pumps if necessary. First of all, I'm uncomfortable with Medela at this point, and second of all, it would be easier. An Ameda Elite is $700 plus you'd need some kits, etc. I might also look at getting some things like nipple shields, hydrogel packs, etc, from Ameda--again, I'm uncomfortable with Medela's WHO code violations and that is the only thing in town. >I thought of using vistaprint for business cards, are there less expensive places? : I use VistaPrint--I think it's the best deal. Better even than printing your own. I've been doing the free cards with their logo on the back, but I'm going to switch to appointment cards on the back. Good luck! This is such an exciting time for me! Gerboth, IBCLC, CBE Pueblo, Colorado www.safepassagebirth.com
Guest guest
Thanks, for the great info. I didn't know if I could use a blog as a business page. I think I will do this then. I know godaddy reroutes as I have a travel business that I do the reroute thing with godaddy. I agree that when I figured in ink costs and paper costs, vistaprint seemed less expensive than doing my own. I used the little flower blossom logo it seemed very delicate and went along well with the business name of Gentle Beginnings. Wow, the insurance isn't nearly as expensive as I thought it might be. I'll have to check that out. Yes, this is an exciting time for me as well. Hi Ilene,I'm just getting started too, but here are some of the things I've done so far:>who hosts websites inexpensively?
