Guest guest
A couple of issues with using cheesecloth-first, the roots get very tangled in the wee holes, and tend to grow more down than up. Second, the cheesecloth tends to mold pretty fast. Third, most cheesecloth is bleached-you can get unbleached but it costs a lot more, so you are better off sticking with the STG, lol. I have good luck with unbleached cotton batting used for quilt making, but I know a few people who haven't had the same luck-not sure if what they were using was treated with flame retardants or something, which is likely, but the kind I use isn't. > > I was just thinking. I have used Baby Blanket and Sure to Grow Mats (which are fabulous by the way). But what about cheesecloth? I mean I use it to strain and make greek yogurt, so why on earth can't I use it to grow sunnies, pea shoots, etc? > > It's a good question. > > Anyone ever try this? > > Thanks much, Melody >
