Guest guest
Has anyone had to put their child on Levoxyl (for thyroid) along with Lexapro or another SSRI for possible thyroid issues? And if so, what has been your experience? The reason being... Our Psychiatrist does not agree with our Pediatrician's office that dd's thyroid (TSH) # is normal. It's within the " range " , but she thinks it's too high in the range for an almost 12yo. So she wants to put her on a low dose (25mg.) of Levoxyl and basically go " low & slow " with this on top of her Lexapro. We are the ones having hair loss with Lexapro and extra anxiety at 16 weeks on Lexapro (1st med ever). We are highly questioning that Lexapro is working for our dd and are concerned about the hair loss. We are getting her thyroid checked again on Monday just to make sure the #'s are correct. Psychiatrist did say that the higher # could be " normal " for dd. Then we need to make yet another decision. Prescribing Psychiatrist wants to keep with Lexapro and add Levoxyl. I guess I'm looking for any and all advice, info etc. Thanks for your time if you have it. Believe me, I understand if you don't. =) ~staci
