Guest guest
: I have a diabetic friend who ALWAYS has stomach problems, gas, bloating, this and that. I once said " Do you think it might be the fact that you eat 2 whole heads of broccoli or two heads of escarole at one sitting THAT THIS MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM??? Her response was 'Oh I know but I LOVE BROCCOLI AND ESCAROLE. So I think that even though people might KNOW the stuff is either too much of a good thing, eating too much of it, eating not enough of this or that, well they just don't care. And P.S. , what did you think of my new greening up stand? I posted a new thread and nobody came!!! LOL Melody
Guest guest
Was it yours I saw that used a rack for hanging wet clothing in the shower? I saw that one. it was a good idea and something the person had. I see so many new things that I can't remember whose it was.  I ate a couple bean sprouts this morning and I was not impressed. Maybe I let them go too long. They have leafed out. The roots which were long, were very bitter. The top of a shorter one was not so bitter but not too tasty either. I think maybe I let them grow way too long before eating. I have no idea what kind of beans as there were several and some never sprouted. I don't know whether to try them in a smoothie and try to cover the taste or to dump them, clean my trays and start over. I did love the 4 seed salad sprouts. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, March 26, 2012 9:13 AM Subject: Re: OT - Hungry for Change  : I have a diabetic friend who ALWAYS has stomach problems, gas, bloating, this and that. Guest guest
The mosquitoes think I am candy, always have. My husband gets none or doesn't notice them. I have even used OFF which I don't like. Maybe if I eat the right things they will stay away. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, March 26, 2012 9:47 AM Subject: Re: Re: OT - Hungry for Change  I'm a type 1 diabetic and mosquitos avoid me like the plague. I've heard other diabetics say similar things. That may be one of the few things that diabetics could call a blessing. I have to do all of my gardening EARLY in the morning, or the bugs will eat me alive. I put a few drops of olbas oil on and that helps keep them away, but if I am outside after 2 in the afternoon, they nibble on me like I am candy! > >
Guest guest
I saw a documentary once about a group of vegans that live in a communal type setting in Hawaii-they said they live entirely off their own land, fruits, veggies, etc. and none of them are bothered by bugs at all, even sleeping outside at night. When they have visitors from the mainland, the visitors are bothered terribly by the bugs, yet the group that lives there don't even notice them. Makes you wonder if all that clean living doesn't interest the bugs! The group noticed that THEY can smell the odor of Mcs and other things on visitors. Very interesting. Only flaw with that theory, is that I eat as " clean " as it gets, no junk, EVER...and the bugs still think I am their daily bread! > > > light skin? diabetic? trying to figure why. hubby has no bites. > > > > Carolyn Wilkerson > > > > > > > > > > To: sproutpeople > > Sent: Sunday, March 25, 2012 11:23 PM > > Subject: Re: OT - Hungry for Change > > > > > > The bugs love me too-have a terrible time with them.
