I think you would be safe to wait 2 1/2 weeks until the 4 months

well-baby appointment. But I wouldn't wait any longer then that.

Since your ped is clearly band-friendly you shouldn't have any

trouble getting a referral and an RX. That's great! I really

commend your ped - I wish mine had been like that. Sometimes

it takes a month or so to go through the entire referral process,

but even still you are in good shape time wise.

Keep us posted!

It takes a while to get the ball rolling, so you may just want to

get it rolling now. It may take a while to hear from insurance and

then if your dr also wants a CT Scan, that can also delay things

quite a bit.

I would suggest getting the ball rolling now and if you do see

enough progress during that time you can just delay getting the

band.

This way everything will be in place if you decide to go ahead with

the band.

At my son's 4 month checkup we decided not to band. Then about 5

days later I went back asking for the script! He was in his band at

5 months and 4 days and did great! You'll be please with the

correction he can see at this age!

It is not the degree of restriction that you FEEL but your weight

loss that is the deciding factor. After a new fill, You can't

evaluate your weight loss in less than 2-3 weeks, and - also - some

fills do not kick in for 1-2 weeks, so i would certainly suggest

waiting.

The ideal fill is not one where you feel a huge restriction, but one

where you simply get comfortably full sooner and are much less

interested in food. One that is so different than the last one so you

barf and choke on everything is no good, and will usually set you

back several weeks or months.

You're in the general fill range where even a tiny addition can make

a huge difference, so be cautious and proceed slowly. This isn't a

race. Good luck! Sandy R
