Hi Cindi,

Amber is not an articulate signer for that same reason, but signing exact

english is easier than asl for her and me. It is also what is used in school

here.

Amber has to have hands on to first learn the sign,though she is now trying

hard

to imitate when you present her with a new sign. but this is just her. all kids

learn at different rates, autistic or not. and not all things work for every

child.

I was going to purchase a cheap talker, but I spoke to a teacher that

specializes in autism, and she told me to wait until Allie was older and

much more proficient with them. She said many are more trouble than they

are worth. So I have decided to wait and for now I will continue to

carry her pecs binder with me as much as possible.
