Guest guest
Greets: I was told if you use your albutorol or salbutomol (albutomol) too much it will make you much worse and starts hindering your ability to breathe rather than helping you to breathe. Basically the abuse of the medication (although it sounds like your following the directions, perhaps your perscription is too high...what is it at? 250mg?) makes for worse situations. The more you use it the more your body compensates and gets used to the medication rather than being helped by it. Ask your doctor if maybe lowering your albutorol rather than the predgnisone and go from there. Sheal

Guest guest
Hi Thanks for all the input everyone. My Albuterol is 2.5 mg inhalation solution. I neb every 4 hours with this during the daytime, usually don't have to get up in the night to neb., so I end up using it 5 times a day. For some reason my asthma is better at night usually. I have heard that sometimes Albuterol can make asthma worse, and that if you breathe too deeply when nebbing you can cause bronchiospasms, I wonder if that is what I am doing. Spoke to my Doctor yesterday and she seems to think that my symptoms are caused by the decrease in the pred dosage. She said I have 2 choices at this point, increase the pred again or to try Lasix for 5 days because she thinks the pred withdrawel may be causing me to retain water which could be causing these symptoms. I really want off the pred, so I'm going to try the Lasix. If that doesn't work I guess I'll have to up the pred until the Xoliar has more of a chance to take effect.--Also I'm going to ask my doctor if I am using too much Albuterol, and maybe if I need to switch to something else.
