Guest guest
I don't have a dehydrator yet. I figure I need to grow a lot more veggies first  Can tie up herbs from the bottom and hang in a dry place. They will dry. But we wouldn't like sprouts dried I'd think.  I think you'd want them fresh and raw. I am not sure if you'd ever want to try them. but I don't know much about it. I think I'd like the herbs dried and it would be easy either way. The Vitamix would be a lot more useful to you than he dehydrator. you can use the oven to dry things too. Vitamix just does so many things. If you have lots of fruit trees, then I am not sure which way to go as fruit leather is good.   or just dried fruit. Vitamix can make icecream and smoothies, etc.  Carolyn Wilkerson  To: " sproutpeople " <sproutpeople > Sent: Sunday, June 10, 2012 8:14 PM Subject: Re: Re: First time sportier  You know the more I watch on u tube and other places about sprouts and recipes and such, its seems there are 2 things in common I need to get that are crazy expensive. A Vitamixer and an Excalibur dehydrator...lol Also need to get a small coffee grinder as well...lol  Want to understand the Bible better?  FREE  studies.  For more info Just ask! ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Sunday, June 10, 2012 11:46 AM Subject: Re: First time sportier  Looks great, Melody! If you had let the leaves get REALLY dry-beyond the " crunchy " point, they would have made an even finer powder. A coffee bean grinder is a great way to buzz up herbs (provided you don't use it for coffee beans too-can transfer flavor of coffee to herb, and herb to coffee-I keep a grinder just for herbs, seeds, nuts, etc) BUT...if you have a larger amount of leaves and do them in the Vitamix, it will be a lovely fine powder. > > > > > > Thanks for the info. What kind if sprouter do you find most useful and what kind of trays? Sunflower seeds, chia and flax would need soil or a medium right? Would the regular seed growing trays work for those? > > > > > > I forget who it us who is growing stevia. If you've not used the green stevia powder before it's quite different than using the store products which are mixed with other agents. Green stevia should be allowed to settle after mixing into say, iced tea or other beverage or it will taste pretty awful. Very tiny amounts will suffice. in smoothies it should be blended in with your other ingredients. > > > I'm going to try brewing a few whole > > > Leaves along with tea bags- see if that method works. > > > Deb > > > Sent from my iPod > > > > > >
