Guest guest
You can get the trays at a garden store or Lowe's. Don't have to have the greenhouse tops, but if you want them they are available. Some put a clean dirt in there for cheapest, but then coir is cleaner. Then there arethe new Sure to Sprout mats and those don't have any dirt at ll. Just water and the seeds. You can keep them inside on a shelf. Just do 1 or 2 things, like a couple of spouts or sprout mixes and if you want to try a tray of microgreens, why not mix them - half of sunflowers and half to peas or popcorn. It is going to take us time to develop recipes using the sprouts. Just try to keep the price down on your equipment if you can. I just noticed that my ipod (which has an annoyingly insistent spellcheck) changed " sprouter " to " sportier " . in my previous messages. Anyway, about the Stevia, I was just going to try seeping it with the tea bags, but if you've already tried that, and found the dehydrated leaves a better option, then maybe I won't bother. Melody, thanks for the youtube videos.. those are great... I think I'll get one easy sprout jar, and then maybe just a couple of lids for some extra mason jars. But the tray for sprouting micro greens is what I'm not sure of.... And there are so many yummy sounding seeds out there I just don't know which ones to start with! I soaked some hull-less sunflower seeds, and was amazed that they barely began to sprout after only a day..even without their shells! With all the broken pieces which would just get sour, I didnt want to leave them longer to see what would happen, but I was rather surprised when I ate them, even though they were not quite " sprouted " yet, that , for lack of better description, they tasted " alive " . thanks again, all, Deb
