Welcome back Kendra :)

For those who don't know, Kendra is the previous owner of this group -

she's being far too humble!! She also put together much of the

information on www.plagiocephaly.org/support super great webpage!!!

Glad to have you back Kendra, of course not happy Max is soon to be

banded, but he'll do great :)

> My name is Kendra. 3 years ago, my daughter Hanna wore a DOC Band

for 5 months to fix her right side plagio, misaligned ears and bossing

forehead. She received good correction, but not 100%. To this day, I

(stressing " I " ) still see some flatness, but to the average person, no

one would ever be able to tell. Her ears straightened out great, and

her face is still a bit off, but again, no one would ever notice

(unless she wears straight-framed sunglasses. One eye is still a bit

more forward than the other).

>

> So now you're asking yourself why I'm here?? Well, my almost 8

month old son will be receiving his DOC Band in 2 weeks. I didn't

think it could ever happen again, at least not to us, but here we are.

Max was born with a nice round head (unlike Hanna), but despite

carrying him, repositioning him, etc., he ended up being flat all

across the back of his head. Max was seen by our local " specialist "

at 5 months of age and we were told Max's head fell into the " normal "

range and that it would round more as he grew. We had seen a bit of

improvement from 3-5 months, so I decided to give it a bit more time.

Well, nothing has improved, so we went back and fought for this Dr.

to give Max a band. So now our second journey begins!

Welcome back Kendra, I see you were a previous owner, that's great,

this group is awsome , they have helped me so much, I'm glad you are

back. I'm sorry to hear about Max, thank God there is a cure, do you

think this can be hereditary? I'm scared cause we are working in the

second child right now, and sometimes I get really concern about it.

My daughter was banded on 03/25 and it has been a nightmare

she hates the band, she cries, I hope she get used to soon or I'll

die, it's hard. I wish you the best of luck with Max. I'm sure he'll

do just fine.

Kendra,

I can't tell you how nice it was to see your name beside a post.

Feels like old times! LOL! Of course, I'm sorry that Max has to wear

Thanx !

I'm sure genetics must play SOME role in all of this. Or maybe not. Maybe it's my own dumb bad luck! Hanna's crooked head came to her in utero, and I think with Max, his size is his major issue. Who knows. I still think my hubby and I must produce softer skulls or something! I know so many kids who as babies spent hours and hours on end without anyone holding them, and they came out with the roundest heads you've ever seen! Guess we'll never really know.

Anyway, hope your little gets used to her new hat soon. Tell her it's not so bad. I'm sure she looks adorable! ;o)
