Guest guest
Hi everybody - I have recently self-diagnosed myself (home blood sugar testing) as pre-diabetic and am looking for help in reversing that. I've spent an enormous amount of time on the internet researching related topics beyond lose weight/get more exercise (which I will incorporate). Specifically, I'm going to follow the Eat to Live (Fuhrman) plan as much as I can, including going mostly vegetarian - a lot it raw. I watched the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead video and was greatly influenced by that. I don't plan on going on a 60-day juice fast, but was sucked in by the claim that the " stars " of the documentary had eliminated most of their medications, since I already take too many. I've become overwhelmed with the quantity of information, not all reliable, and ask for help from those of you with experience to help me focus on some of the less-well-known secrets you may have discovered. I found the Eat-2-Live and Vegetarian Yahoo forums and am also learning from those. Melody - I noticed your comment that fenugreek was good for diabetes, so will grow more of that. Molloy - you had previously given info on juicing and I said I didn't, but am now the proud owner of a new Breville juicer. My first " test " event included a little of everything I had in the fridge, and I ended up using some V8 Fusion juice to make it more palatable. I need to be doing mostly veg juices - I can " blend " fruit into great smoothies already. I'd really like to improve my blood sugar numbers in the next couple of months because I know how important it is, but don't want to end up at the doctor and on more medication!! By the way, all of this started from my contact with this group, and sprouting fits in wonderfully with my new lifestyle changes. Anyone can email me directly if you don't want to continue this on the forum. Thanks for any help, Dona []
