Guest guest
We have been busy here contacting our local media.....newpapers, TV and radio trying to get the word out about the rally. Also I wear my Autism Awareness ribbon to work every day and have people ask me what it's for, which then gives me a chance to tell them about the rally and why it is so important. Each one of us may only cause a very small ripple in the vast sea of humanity, but together as one, we can achieve a tidal wave that will wash away ignorance, indifference and intolerance. We must all speak as one voice to tell our country and our world about Autism and what is needed to find the cause(s). We can, speaking in one strong voice, make sure that legislative bills that will increase funding for research and special services provided at local levels, will be passed. We can help put an end to what seems to be an ongoing battle for the parents of children with special needs, when they try to get services for their child. How many times have all of us on this list read posts from parents in different parts of the country, tell us how their request for a service or a need their child had, was denied at an IEP? Too many times! We, the parents, grandparents and caregivers of our autistic children must stand as one, speak as one and RALLY as one to let the nation and yes the world know about the impact autism has on us. They must be made aware of the growing number of newly diagnosed cases of autism, and how inadequate the current funding is for programs and services for autistic children. Each one of us on this list must not allow that voice to be silenced! Make today the day that you contact your local newspaper, new station, and radio station and let them know about something great that will be happening in Washington DC on April 8th, the Autism Awareness Rally! -- June " Do little things with great love.
