Guest guest
Hi Wanda, Just saw your post re going to the hospital last evening and being told you have COPD instead of asthma. So sorry. I hope this wasn't an emergency situation. I would be inclined to say that you have both as COPD generally has an asthma component, usually environmentally triggered allergies. That's my case, anyway. It's my understanding that with only asthma, one's PFT test improves greatly after a breathing treatment. Mine only improved 4%. With COPD, the PFT numbers don't improve at all, or the least being 1% after a breathing test. In other words, asthma can be reversed (that's what they say); and COPD cannot. Were your medications changed for the COPD? I was given Combivent to handle the extra congestion. Merlynn
