Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Hope and Barb. I'm relatively new myself. I actually participated in the group about 4 or 5 years ago for awhile, and I gained an enormous amount of insight into myself and my world. Then I rejoined a few weeks ago, because I find that I need to keep this stuff conscious or I lose ground. Some illnesses and a couple of deaths in the family, and I was right back to old dysfunctional patterns! This list and the fine people on it are a great way to maintain one's progress. In January I will be starting a new semester at school, and my daughter will begin a series of surgeries. I am kind of worried that I won't be able to keep up with the list, but I'm going to try. I don't want to just skim the posts. I really get the most out of a group like this if I can take the time to read the posts as well as contribute thoughtful posts of my own. I sometimes figure things out myself as I type, but often someone will say something in just the right way that triggers a whole new way of looking at things. Hope, I liked your metaphor (the oxygen mask) for taking care of ourselves first. I love metaphors. I'm sending one of my favorites in a separate post.
