Our son, too, is VERY oral. We have him wear a " chew toy " around every day.

There are several available (we got ours at 's Occupational

Therapists). One is called Brain Power, a plastic tube on a cord that goes

around the neck, and one is called Chewelry, a coil neckalce and bracelet.

I'm not sure where to find them out in the real world, but I would try some

online stores like autismshop.com. chews holes through his clothing

every day when he is going thru one of his " chewing phases. " We always say

he has disposable shirts! Alison

I just keep a lot of gum around. :-) It's banned in our school

district though, so when I was in public school I was one of those

annoying kids who chewed on their pencil. Ah well.
