If the lentils  are like the beans, don't let them get too high before you eat

the little guys.

The beans that got taller were very bitter.  They must be 7 " tall now and I

am not sure they are even worth putting outside.  Might be better just to

plant the seeds out there.  Husband is having some teenagers from church who

need money for camp coming over on Saturday to move some dirt and build a

slightly elevated space at the fence in back.  he was going to make it 4

ft. wide but I think that is too much as it is too hard to reach to care for.

I am thinking more like 2-2 1/2 feet.  The ground is mostly sand so it isn't

too hard to dig in.   What do you think?  He wants to put bouganvilla in

there, 3 plants or so down the line.  I'd like to plant somehting else and

with the fence I am afraid that it may have a lot of shaade.  Not usually good

for veggies.  Good for impatiens though.  Our impatiens don't grow too well in

summer but do best in our winter down here (So. FL) .

I found out something interesting today. I had been sprouting lentils in the

round green trays. They sprout BEAUTIFULLY, right up to the top of the tray. At

the same time I started the trays, I also put some in a mason jar. They sprouted

also but nothing like what was happening in the round green trays. I have no

idea why this is. So I just transferred them from mason jar to the tray and they

are getting tall.

You gotta love the Sproutgarden. lol (I love to say gotta)
