Hi ,

I think I can answer your questions!

You asked:

<<

A question, Edith. Which list is the one referred to as OPEN?

IS it the original ModOasis list, or the new NonBPoasis list?

>>

BOTH ModOasis and NonBP-oasis are OPEN lists, meaning anyone can

join and lurk to their heart's content.

Edith is also setting up some CLOSED lists (e.g., NonBP-oasis2 =

for the 'oldie' KOs, NonBP-oasis3 = for newer KOs, NonBP-oasis4

= for KOs w fadas, NonBP-oasis5 = TBD). For a closed list,

Edith has to approve your membership (mostly automatic for those

who post frequently, but if you lurk you have to send an

explanation as to why you want to be on the list). Closed lists

(i.e., NOT open to the general public) are created so people

don't have to lurk anymore. In fact, if you join a closed list,

you are expected to participate. It is to give us a safer place

to work through things. For those of us who already post, we

may feel safer to say more things. And for those who currently

lurk, they may feel safe enough to come out of lurker mode.

It will also create a place where the members are more or less

at the same place on their " healing journey " . I think this

facilitates the process. I also think " newbies " can benefit

from the wisdom of those who have BTDT, so it's a good idea to

stay subscribed to the open lists. The open lists will also be

places where non-KOs can ask us what it's like (e.g., the spouse

of a BP can ask us what they can do to help the situation).

That's funny - I counted 3 lists. Plus the one started a

week ago.

regarding my comment about their being 4 lists. I was referring

to ModOasis (open), ModOasis2 (closed, but currently inactive),

NonBP-oasis (open) and NonBP-oasis2 (closed, for oldies).

I hope this helps get you up to speed!

Hugs,

Anon
