Guest guest
hi this may sound very naive but when you see dr Goyal you do it under the ASD department or you just book an appointment for him .....the reason I say so is because the price is different .....and to be honest I am not sure if we need an appointment with a nutritionist, did you ever had one by the way ?, but also because I do not know if he will talk just about biomed under the ASD consultation and not other issues that the child may have and does so on the other type of consultation .....we really are contacting him for biomed primarily but also for this latest events but I am unsure how to do the appointment ..... any help would be brilliant even off list if you prefer regards
Guest guest
I rang them and expalined i didnt need the nutritionlist appointment but it is stadard (new) preceedure and cannot get out of it, although i have rang them and cancelled my follow up consultation with her saying that im already under a nutritionlist so i dont need to be paying twice, they were fine with that. The paperwork they have sent through states yopu cot to take a pot of food that the child wont eat, im not bothering as my son eats everything, well everything except avocadoes (which i personally hate) and i dont see the point of the exercise for a child who eats everything. x To: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: Mum231ASD@...Date: Sat, 10 Dec 2011 10:27:48 -0500Subject: Re: breakspear It seems under the new BS rules, new patients HAVE to see the nutritionist first, good job I am already on the books................ Guest guest
I saw Dr Goyal and Angelette the Nutritionist for the first time two weeks ago, despite having seen other Drs at the Breakspear on and off for about 7 years. I took that pot of food you mentioned but was not asked to produce it. Angelette mainly took notes before Dr G joined us and he did bounce ideas off her a bit. She was nice enough and realised there was not alot she could tell me about nutrition so didnt try. I think the only thing she suggested was to add fresh herbs to my sons food which is a good idea. I think the cost of the appointment is the same with or without her but she was quite handy to write notes. I also cancelled the follow up appointment with her, but was told it was free anyway and might be useful if I wanted to query anything. In our experience the advice Dr G gave was not limited to ASD as we talked about seizures too. I think the cost is more for a first appointment because it takes longer. Dr G's time is more expensive than Angelette's so you might as well have her take your case history (which they still do even after completing that very long form) rather than use up your time with him for this. She then summarises to him when he joins in the appointment. That was our experience anyway x > > > > I rang them and expalined i didnt need the nutritionlist appointment but it is stadard (new) preceedure and cannot get out of it, although i have rang them and cancelled my follow up consultation with her saying that im already under a nutritionlist so i dont need to be paying twice, they were fine with that.
