Ah, the " teribble twos " ! I had a small plastic swimming pool that I would set

my daughter in with a few buckets of soil and her own little set of plastic

gardening tools. When I felt she was past the stage of just getting dirty from

the soil, I taught her how to plant seeds in her little colorful pots (dollar

stores are great for acquiring such things!) I think because soil and pots

weren't " forbidden " , she left the ones in the house alone, lol. We eventually

planted that entire plastic pool with flowers, which she delighted in

" tending " -I think she was maybe around three at that time. Giving your daughter

her own little tools and pots could go a long way towards keeping her out of

yours, lol!

gardening while she is little! Let her HELP you...then she won't be so inclined

to be curiolus about the pots! My daughter (now 17) has been " helping " me with

my indoor gardening since she was about 2, so your timing is great-take

advantage of it! Talk about good bonding time! My most prized moments with my

daughter were having her learn to cook and garden along side of me from the time

she was big enough to stand on a stool...she was also much more apt to eat the

things she helped to grow and cook!
