Hi all

I am just wondering what everyone thinks of higher education for our

children.

is high functioning and is doing well.

I am trying to create a education fund for her but if she doesn't

use the money for education, she gets financially penalized. So I am

wondring what I should do. We talk about college and " what she wants

to become " and she would be happy being a candy stripper in the

hospital or a vet's assistant. I talked with her about being a

Zoologist as well as research assistant and she loved the thought of

working with Orca's. But am I reaching to far. Am I pushing her

beyond her limits? Am I expecting to much of her? She worried about

moving but her dad reassured her that we would relocate to where

ever that she wanted to attend college, that made her relax.

She is mainstreamed with her peers and is doing 80% of the required

work with a grade level of 76%. In other words her report card is

C's and C+'s at a modified level.

What does everyone else think of preparring kids for the rest of

their lives? One teacher said to just focus on basic life and living

skills, I said I need to help her past that.
