, I think most people can see that there would be a problem marketing it

using its traditional name " rapeseed " oil.

Lee

I agree, but if you notice, it became " canola " after it was genetically modified,

so I think it is deceptive to market it as a veggie oil, when it has non veggie

GMOs in it.

I tend to use EVOO, sesame oil and pumpkin seed oil. I haven't taken the

plunge into coconut oil yet. I can't do peanut oil because of allergies

(although some ppl can use it, I break out and have an asthma attack). I

became vegetarian a little over 3 months ago and the nuances in taste in

the oils are very noticeable to me now.

Heart doctors don't have nutritional training.  And pharmacists know more about

medication than doctors. I sure found that out.  You must not have gotten

's comments about Coconut oil and even though it has some saturated fats,

there are benefits from it.  She'll have to explain it as i was like you: EVO,

Canola and Grape Seed Oil and I use Smart Balance milk and margarine with olive

oil and omega 3 oils.  Then I read about EVO perhaps not being real first

pressed unless it was more expensive as that isn't a lot of oil and was more

precious and our palates are not as fine for oils as the Italians.  Then with

the GMO's added...... that is another story.  And  the Coconut oil was

recommended as a replacement for sauteeing onions and garlic and even adding to

baked goods because of some health reasons ( told me and recommended a

book (I didn't read it) and then Dr. Oz's daughter backed it up on this program

on TV (and she and Dr. Oz

don't always see eye to eye, but who knows eggs didn't used to be good for us

either and now they are a wonder).

And do I know that  you can't believe anything on the internet, especially on

FB and things like that.  have  you seen the politics on there?  I even saw a

show around the lst election at about 12:30 or 1:00 am where some of the

campaign people from the Republican party were talking about it.  Mentioned

the Swift Boat story as one example of not having truth to it and it went on

internet and people believed it.  Said Kerry screwed up by not responding to it

as he thought people would realize it wasn't true.  His loss, literally.  They

also mentioned that when they do their ads and it is " traceable to them " (my

words their idea) that they have to have some truth in it, just a bit, and then

they can skew it to sound like it is terrible (again my words for what they

said).  So can't believe all of what either party puts out.  Kerry didn't

seem to behave that way as he was honorable.  However, as they said on that

program, the next elections

would be nasty as both sides had to do that to get elected.  Disgusting.  I

didn't like Kerry's running mate (he was just too slick and slimy I thought and

that turned out to be true).  But I sure did like Kerry.  He was too fed up

with that to run for President again.  Too many deals and compromises have to

be made, but then many compromises should be made for the good of America, just

want politicians who know which are which.

We need to look into things more before we accept them as well.  And we need to

see if what they tell us matches up when we look at it closely.  Have a

fantastic weekend.  Sure is nice here in FL in the little mobile home park

where I live.  Canadians and other northerners are getting ready to head back

north in the next couple of months, Canadians will all be gone by around the

15th.  They can only be here 1 day less than 6 months because of their health

insurance (which ones here all seem to think is great).  Some do have to wait

for some things I hear, but heard no complaints here.  Several here are

diabetics with their portable machines with them and are doing well.  Most are

in great shape as they do exercise a lot.  Always someone walking or biking or

running or in-line skating, or line dancing at the club house or playing

Pentanque (similar to Bocce ball).  Their homes are spotless and they clean

everything, including windows, replant

flowers and sometimes resod some lawn and even wash down their car before they

pull out their golf clubs and party.  They are sure friendly with one

another.  They also like their wine at their happy hours.  I saw someone

waxing their mailbox one day (French Canadian for sure).    Only problem is I

don't understand much of what is being said but it is getting better (I am not

learning, they are).,  Sorry I sort of went off in celebration a bit.  I need

to be more like them and eating more like and Melody and others.  Thanks

so much guys. Forgive me for my effulgent (did I spell that right?) TGIF and in

FL rant.

good morning.....personally, i think that we can create alot of difficulties for

ourselves by getting our medical advice from the internet or tv shows.....there

certainly is a great deal of good information out there ( as well as bad ) but

on the internet people can say absolutely anything whether it is factual or not

or is applicable to an individual's situation

coconut oil is grand stuff but it contains 12 grams of saturated fat per

tablespoon.....when someone says that something is better than something else, i

think that one needs to take that with a grain of salt.....most stuff presented

now is just a matter of a person's personal opinion too.....i think that you're

smart, carolyn, to do some research of your own when you hear some new

information

i use canola oil or olive oil for baking and in some salad dressings because

those are the two oils that were recommended for us by the heart doctor but i

did a good deal of reading about both of them ( and other stuff ) myself too

if you want to do some interesting researching, do some reading about

salts.....i read that grey celtic sea salt is approximately 13% lower in sodium

than other sea salts and havn't found information to the contrary yet.....maybe

it's true.....i find learning about things like this to be interesting

too.....have a great day.....peace, mary

Thank you, .. I have a pear tree that has never really gotten going

because every year the wood ants use it for their aphid farming. I'm going

to try this, this year. I ran into the neem tree when I ived in India.

Thank you, .. I have a pear tree that has never really gotten going

because every year the wood ants use it for their aphid farming. I'm going

to try this, this year. I ran into the neem tree when I ived in India.
