How to get a stool test without a doctor request???

HI all

I have decided to take my son to see Dr Goyal, I am an old patient of Breakspear. I want specially check my son's stools as he has been having a lot of tummy aches lately and very soft stools, I think it may be worms or other things. I want to keep the cost down and have the stool test result when I go to see Dr Goyal. Any suggestion on how to get this stool test done prior to the appt? I have rang the hospital and they won't allow me to do the test before meeting the doctor. Thank you
