Guest guest
Hi all, I am fine now but have possibly had a an intermittent sliding hiatus hernia (misdiagnosed as gastritis). This is when the stomach can slide up above the diaphragm muscle. I thought I would mention this in case it is relevant to others. Like others I am hypermobile (an expensive rheumatologist diagnosed me as hypermobile when I had arthritis. It was a surprise to me that you could be so very sore and yet so very " mobile " ). I also have a weak diaphragm (this I gleaned from TST). I wonder if hernias, sliding or otherwise, are a problem for others with a combination of hypermobility and a weak diaphragm? I'm really not sure, but I wonder if it is easy to hyperextend the joints beyond what the internal organs (stomach and diaphragm) can cope with. I also wonder if pressure-seeking behaviours could exacerbate the problem (ie leaning and stretching). Best wishes, Sandy
