Guest guest
Carolyn, I've been gardening for years. Every year I have to add a few bags of new soil to what's already there because it breaks down. (I make my own compost and have to add that, too). So far, I haven't even come close to breaking even, much less saving money by gardening rather than buying in the stores. That's even in a good gardening season. I've never done it to save money because that simply doesn't happen unless you happen to have incredibly great soil where you live that doesn't need amendments every year. Sprouts are a different matter though. But with the cost of seed and shipping going up so much, even that is less of a cost savings than it used to be. " By growing some of your own veggies and sprouting will put healthier food in your diet as well as saving money (at least once you have things going and don't have to buy start up things).
