LOL You and me both!!! I was very nervous about going in for my son's first appt with the ped also. I didn't know how she would react or what she would say. And personally I always tend to think of all the negative things that might happen and stress over them. LOL I personally don't care for the passive approach because that always seemed to give others the right to walk all over me. And I know when someone comes at me demanding something my first instinct is to go against whatever they want. LOL So I went into the appt. with a semi-aggressive attitude. I didn't want her to feel like I was demanding her to do something, but I did want her to know I wasn't going to back down. I did a lot of research and had tons of info, pictures, etc... printed out that I took with me just in case. I ended up not needing them because our ped agreed to do the band, but only because I was concerned with the shape of my child's head. She thinks it MIGHT correct on it's own. I however am not willing to take that chance. I was frustrated and irritated with the ped after the appt., but all that mattered was my son getting the band. Now however the ped has become VERY cooperative and told me to let her know what she needs to do and she will do it! LOL Go figure! Now we are in the process of getting pre-certification through the insurance and then we will go for the casting. Good luck at the appt and please let us know how it goes!
