It has a mild nutty flavor. I don't really taste it in my smoothie,

though. The blackberries override any other flavor. I've read that

it is better not to cook the seeds, but that you ALWAYS have to grind

it up. I bought a cheap coffee grinder for about $15 at Walmart and I

use it only for flax seed.
