Guest guest
I have been dealing with the same issue with my son for years and just lately he has started to go up on stage at church for plays and to sing. Just yesterday was the first time he went up to sing with the children. He is 9 now. I know that if I would try to punch him into it, he would just have a melt down. I think you just have to let them start that kind of thing on their own. We also have a Junior Church down stairs when we have our service and I used to have to go down and sit with him then I went to the top of the stairs for a few years and just yesterday he went down by himself. Praise the Lord! Sally in PA AS and Attachment Disorder First, I want to thank people for replying to my request for help. I am following up on some of the suggestions already.I wnder if there is any expert who can distinguish between AS, Attachment Disorder and FAE? The person would have to be a real multi-tasker.One of the people who replied said to treat the symptomatology, but the symptoms can overlap. If my daughter refuses to go up with the other kids when the childrens' gospel is read, how do I know whether it is an attachment manipulation or something ASD, when she is flopping all over me? Do I ned to respond really firmly and make her go up or do I need to take a less confrontational and persuasive approach? It is really confusing. Guest guest
I would suggest not making her go up. For AS kids, that is terrifying! Definitely not a battle you want to fight for something such as this, IMHO. maralee AS and Attachment Disorder First, I want to thank people for replying to my request for help.
