Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just got off the phone with the neurosurgeon's office. We will be seeing Dr. ph Madsen on March 20th. Not bad! Only 10 days we have to wait! Now, here is the news you won't believe- I told the secretary the reason we were given the referral and she said that before I made the appointment she wanted to tell me about the weeks events. They use NOPCO, as I guess it is right in the area. Before last week it was only $800 for everything, but as of last week some kind of patent went through. Now it is $1500 to $2500 UP FRONT for them to even cast her (and she said insurance would absolutely not cover it regardless what kind we have). They can't make helmets at all anymore, so they cast and send them out to another company. I asked which company, but the secretary was unsure. What a difference a week makes! She also said NOPCO wouldn't do Hannah while she was so young. I was thinking I would not want to use a local company anyway and that I would ask for the DOC band, but it was nice to have NOPCO as an alternative money wise. So, we will go on the 20th to have them look at Hannah and then we can get the script from them. The secretary said they will write it for wherever we want. I just have no idea how we would be able to afford the DOC band. Should we contact them now and ask for insurance advice? I can't imagine they won't write us a script based on Hannah's level of assymetry! Has anyone else heard of this patent thing? I was wondering what company it would be that they send out to now. Hmmm... , mom to Hannah-11wks
