Guest guest
Here's the USDA nutrient database, so anyone can look lettuce up or anything else, for that matter. This is much more accurate than anything else I've seen on the web, and it gets updated from time to time: http://www.ars.usda.gov/Services/docs.htm?docid=20957 You can look up just about anything you eat and see its actual nutrients. If you look up iceberg lettuce, you'll see that it's a very poor source for just about any nutrient except water. I have no idea where they got the idea that " It is also a good source of Thiamin, Vitamin B6, Iron and Potassium, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate and Manganese. " It has very close to zero of any of these. You can save this database, and any time you want to know what's in something, look here instead of doing an online search and getting information that may or may not be any good. H.
